Last week we had to cook and take a bit of smoke from the oven and the kitchen door was open, and smoke were able to trigger the fire alarm in the building (the smoke detectors in each room). Of course, I had everything that firefighters and equipment at the time of application of the mean. The fact is that the administrator of the hospital buildings and director of the policy I am, I am not sure who started the fire alarm system, put a fine ranging from 250to € 500. We have not belongings. It damage the building or NHS was just smoke a little crazy. .. My question is: Can we really good? or we can withdraw, or a complaint or something similar? This punishment is legal? Can I refute in any way?
Thank you, hope to get the right advice. Please forgive me for my bad English, screaming

I agree with Anna C, P response, but added, ask your partner to see your representatives' of the Union (if anything) about your problem. Or ask a friend to do it

You can be fined, there was no malicious intent.

Learn the Citizens Advice Bureau. Never heard of this policy, and I doubt that it is legal.

If this is not his fault that the fire alarm was triggered will not be punished, dismissed or expelled. Accidents happen.

If the alarm of fire was intentional, then you must be punished not only imprisoned but also.
